Sick Danielle
On Monday I stayed home from church (with Danielle) again as I didn't want to get the rest of the church all full of germs, and good thing I did as she started throwing up and didn't stop for the next 24 hours. I have NEVER had a child throw up that much. Anything that she drank and everything else left in her body came up. She was so thirsty and kept asking to drink water but it came to the point I almost didn't want to as she would just throw it up. At one point I had her on my lap and was folding laundry and it all came up again, all over me, the floor, and in the laundry basket. So the still warm from the dryer clothes went right back into the washing machine. Poor kid. I never realized that a laundry basket had so many little sides that needed to be cleaned. (yuck) It was also one loooong night shift, I lost count of how many bed changes. Then in the morning between 7:00 and 8:00 she needed four new outfits and had two baths. But then she had a nap and no more throwing up. I only had her at home so I spent most of the morning snuggling with her on the couch so she would sleep. That's really all little ones want when they are sick, is to be held (and watch T.V.) and it was so nice not to have to run after other kids and I could actually just hold her. And then she was better, seriously she woke up with a big smile (and a big wet pee spot on my couch) and asked for cheese. No problem there. The work I figure is just part of the "job" but the worrying can be so draining. Is she dehydrated? How long is this going to last? What if it is something serious? etc. So I (and Gerard) was so thankful that she was all better.
